Local broadcaster and writer, Lisa Herbert will take you through the basics of storytelling for radio and podcasting. From where to find stories, interviewing, structure and scripting, to recording equipment, sound design, editing, legals and how to publish your podcast and package for radio. Bega Valley Shire Library Strategic Plan Survey

We're planning for the next five years and we want to hear from you. Our current Library Services Strategic Plan is at the end of its life. We're working on a new strategic plan to guide library services and facilities for the next five years. Library spaces and services are adapting, technology is constantly updating and the way people use library and community spaces is changing, so what you think matters! We want to get planning and investment decisions around library buildings, collections, programs, technology and services right for the future. It’s important for you to let us know what you think because resources are limited – what do you see as the priorities for your library service? The Strategic Plan will be informed by feedback from library users, residents, community partners and library staff. Sofie Laguna Author Talk

Join best-selling author Sofie Laguna as she speaks at Tura Marrang Library, Friday 1 August 2025 at 6:00PM. Sofie is an award-winning Australian writer for children and adults. She won the Miles Franklin Award for her second novel, The Eye of the Sheep in 2015. Sofie’s most recent novel for adults, Infinite Splendours, won the 2021 Margaret and Colin Roderick Literary Award and the HT Priestley Medal and was long listed for the Miles Franklin Award, the Indie Award and the Australian Book Industry Awards. Sofie's new novel for adults, The Underworld, is due for launch with Penguin Books Australia, October 28. Sofie originally studied to be a lawyer, but after deciding law was not for her, she moved to Melbourne to train as an actor. Sofie worked for many years as an actor before she began to write books.
