Error accessing library catalogue

Please be aware that the website address for the library online catalogue has changed from librarycatalogue.begavalley.nsw.gov.au to  begavalley.libero.com.au . If you are having issues connecting to the catalogue, please bookmark and use the new address  begavalley.libero.com.au . You may also experience issues searching the catalogue via the library app, or when using the catalogue search function on the home page of the website..  Please be aware that we are currently working to rectify this issue. Christmas Closure

Bega Valley Shire libraries will close from 1:00pm Friday 22 December 2023 and re-open 10:00am Tuesday 2 January 2024. Customers can still visit the website or the eLibrary to access  eBooks, audiobooks, movies, music and more. Items can be returned in the After Hours returns at each library branch during this time. Summer at the library

Summer is here and our libraries across the shire are running a full program of great holiday activities, including our Golden Ticket Reading Challenge, Christmas crafts, author events and plenty of fun Literacy, STEM and Art activities for kids. Eden library to temporarily close for renovations

Bega Valley Shire Council advises that Eden Library will close for renovations from Wednesday 22 November and is expected to reopen on Tuesday 12 December. Acting Library Services Coordinator, Linda Albertson said the renovations will remove an internal wall and replace the carpet to create a more inviting and usable space. It will also see an innovative new smart returns shelf installed. “Customers are advised to stock up now and return items at any time by using the afterhours returns box, which will be emptied as normal,” Ms Albertson said. “Customers can continue to access our free WiFi connection from outside the building and the Eden Community Access Centre provides computers with internet. “Our Library Link home delivery service will operate as normal and customers on a day out in Bega or Tura Beach will be able to use their cards for borrowing from these libraries.” Ms Albertson said now may be a good time for customers to familiarise themselves with the library’s online servic...

Celebration: Talking Together Project

Bega Valley Shire Library invites you to join us to celebrate   Talking Together   with project officer, Craig Garrett, and other library staff. Everyone who’s been involved in the project is invited to a special celebratory event. The  Talking Together  project has had a broad impact on the community with people being involved as transcribers, interviewees, workshop participants, poets, musicians and other supporters. As  Talking Together  comes to an end, we feel it’s worth celebrating how the project has brought people together, providing a way to share stories and technological know-how and discovering insights to our area’s unique brand of resilience and care for each other.   The  Talking Together  Celebration will be on in Bega from 5.30pm-6.30pm on Friday 24 November at the Bega Valley Commemorative Civic Centre, Gulaga Foyer. Library Closure Thursday 23 November

Council all staff day: services affected Bega Valley Shire Council will be closing most of its services for the day on Thursday 23 November for an all-staff development day. “This is an important day for our staff to connect, learn from each other and think about Council as a multi-faceted community organisation,” Council’s CEO, Anthony McMahon said. “We’re combining a development day with an end of year get-together to look back at what we’ve achieved and to look ahead at what’s waiting for us in 2024. “It's a chance for us to work better as a team and reflect on how we can serve the community more effectively.” Some services will stay open, including the Sapphire Aquatic Centre and other shire swimming pools, Council-run Child Care Centres, the South East Centre for Contemporary Art (SECCA), and the Central Waste Facility (for commercial customers only). Juvenilia

Headland’s writers Festival comes to the library with this exciting exhibition of artworks by well know authors. Juvenilia is work produced by an author or artist while they were a child.
